Scientist - R&D

We are now looking for a Scientist to join our R&D team in Rødovre and play a key role in developing and strengthening our raw material platforms and recipe portfolio. You will report to VP, R&D.

This is an opportunity for an experienced formulation specialist who thrives in the intersection between science, strategy, and collaboration. You will take on a central role in ensuring that raw materials and recipes support our ambitions within quality, resilience, secure supply, and cost efficiency.

Become part of an expert team in paint formulation

You will join a specialized R&D environment where technical insight, curiosity, and practical execution go hand in hand. In this role, you will work with raw materials, recipes, and technologies across a defined product area, contributing both to day-to-day product development and to longer-term platform decisions.

You will be involved in the full process from development and optimization to implementation and technical alignment across stakeholders. At the same time, you will help shape the future direction of selected raw material platforms and recipe categories in close dialogue with both internal and external partners.

Your new job

• Drive development projects within your portfolio of application areas.
• Own and develop one or more raw material platforms and/or recipe categories, including strategic direction.
• Ensure robust and competitive recipes with the right balance of quality, resilience, supply security, and cost.
• Evaluate new raw materials, technologies, and formulation opportunities within architectural coatings.
• Act as a technical lead in dialogue with suppliers and external partners.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Procurement, Production, and Product Support.
• Support and coordinate 1–2 technicians and contribute hands-on in the lab when needed.
• Share knowledge across R&D and the wider Flügger Group to reduce complexity and support synergies.

Your profile

We imagine that you have a scientific background within chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer technology, or a related field, combined with experience in formulation and product development.

You are technically strong and comfortable taking ownership of projects and decisions. At the same time, you know how to build relationships across functions and work constructively with a wide range of stakeholders.

• Experience with raw materials, formulations, and recipe development.
• A structured, analytical, and proactive way of working.
• The ability to balance technical performance with commercial and operational needs.
• A genuine interest in both strategic work and hands-on laboratory collaboration.
• A collaborative mindset with a focus on knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
