Your team

As Technical Manager at the site in Kolding, you will have a team of 10 colleagues divided into: plant maintenance, automation and project management. The technical team covers production, wastewater cleaning, warehouse and facilities. The maintenance team of 7 colleagues is supervised, and automation tasks will be carried out partly by own resource and external support. Projects will in large extend be carried out with your project manager in cooperation with you. 

Your role

This role is more than maintenance; it’s about leading and mentoring a skilled team, driving continuous improvements, developing and implementing investment plans and optimization projects. As the Technical Manager, you are a team player and work in close cooperation with the production manager & site coordinator.

You’ll be instrumental in implementing our strategy by setting clear goals, monitoring progress, and fostering a proactive culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop dedicated technical team, with focus on production and facility maintenance, automation and project management, emphasizing growth, skill development, and cross- functional collaboration
  • Work closely with senior management to align departmental goals with Flügger’s strategic priorities, supporting our long-term vision for sustainability, growth and robustness
  • Cultivate a strong safety culture by training and guiding the team on adherence to safety and quality standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Drive and take ownership of continuous improvement and investment initiatives, ensuring execution, momentum, and measurable results.
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure team goals are met and support company-wide objectives
  • Oversee budget management, track expenses, and manage the maintenance resource plan
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects, representing the Maintenance team’s goals and ensuring alignment with broader operational strategies.

Qualifications

  • You have a strong personal drive, take responsibility naturally, and are comfortable making decisions and standing by them in complex situations
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-10 years of management experience, with a proven record in team leadership, talent development, and strategic alignment
  • Strong understanding of people management principles and demonstrated success in developing employees within your area of responsibility
  • Expertise in preventive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, and Lean principles
  • Familiarity with ERP, CMMS, and SCADA systems, and the ability to analyze and act on KPIs effectively
  • Good communication skills with a focus on fostering collaboration and high team engagement
  • Strategic and performance-driven, with the ability to think holistically and lead with impact.
