About the role

 

As our Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for Flügger Iceland EHF. You will work from our Reykjavik office while collaborating closely with colleagues in Iceland and across borders, particularly with our Corporate Accounting team in Denmark.

You’ll report to the Administration Manager in Reykjavik and work under the professional guidance of our Head of Corporate Accounting in Denmark. Our leadership values trust, collaboration, and open communication.

Your key responsibilities will be: 

 

  • Manage customer accounts: creation, credit evaluation, follow-ups, and debt collection
  • Handle supplier invoices and weekly payment proposals
  • Oversee financial bookings and bank reconciliations
  • VAT reconciliation and reporting for Icelandic authorities
  • Customs reporting and credit card/travel expense handling
  • Shop report follow-ups (cash register reconciliation)
  • Support standardization and improvements in accounting processes, including electronic invoice handling (EDI)

Your profile

We’re searching for an accountant who thrives in a structured role but also enjoys working in a global team environment. If you’re proactive, independent, and committed to accuracy, you’ll be a great fit.

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Economy, or Business Administration
  • 2-4 years of experience as an accountant or auditor
  • Fluent in Icelandic and English (both written and spoken) – this is a mandatory requirement
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP
  • Knowledge of workflow systems like Rillion, BI cubes, or financial controls documentation (Impero) is a plus
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and comfortable working in a matrix organization
